Product and Services
Morel Music offers personalized piano instruction in three lesson lengths to meet the needs of students at various skill levels:
30-Minute Lesson Package
45-Minute Lesson Package
60-Minute Lesson Package
The number of lessons and total tuition may vary by semester. The applicable semester dates, number of lessons, and total tuition will be provided before enrollment is confirmed.
All prices are subject to change with prior notice. Changes in pricing will not apply to a semester already purchased.
Lesson Packages:
Lessons are provided to students ages four and older. Before lessons can be provided, an adult with appropriate legal authority must agree to these Studio Policies on behalf of any student under the age of 18.
Lessons and services are non-transferable and intended solely for the enrolled student. Lesson time may not be transferred to or used by another person.
Lessons are reserved weekly and are not rescheduled for lessons missed or canceled by the student. This structure allows each student to maintain a consistent, exclusively reserved time slot and supports continuity of instruction.
Semester Schedule
A semester of lessons (listed above) includes:
A weekly time slot for piano lessons exclusively reserved for the student.
Communication with the instructor for scheduling the lessons, lessons notes/student progress, and any other related communication for the fulfillment of the lesson.
The instructor may offer a recital or concert during or following a semester. Recitals are offered at the instructor’s discretion, and participation is not guaranteed or included as a separately priced component of the lesson package.
Spring and Fall lessons are offered as semester packages. The number of lessons, semester dates, tuition, and payment schedule may vary by semester and will be provided before enrollment is confirmed.
Summer lessons may be offered under separate, more flexible scheduling, package, pricing, payment, cancellation, and refund terms. Any applicable Summer lesson terms will be provided and agreed to separately before Summer enrollment is confirmed.
Payment Options
Lesson packages must be paid either in full before the semester or through the three-payment schedule described below. There are two payment options for lesson packages:
One-Time Payment: Pay for the entire semester upfront.
Three-Payment Plan: The total semester tuition is divided into three equal payments, billed every four weeks.
Enrollment: Each enrollment applies to one student only. Siblings must be enrolled separately, even when their combined lesson times equal a longer lesson period.
Payment Methods: Accepted payment methods include ACH, credit or debit card, check, and Venmo.
Payments may either be initiated directly by the customer or automatically processed through Stripe on the agreed payment dates after the customer provides express written authorization. Morel Music will not automatically process any payment without the customer’s prior written authorization specifying the payment amount and schedule.
Payment arrangements for Summer lessons will be provided and agreed to separately.
Changing a Student’s Time Slot
Families may request a permanent change to the student’s regularly reserved weekly lesson time. Requests will be considered based on studio availability, but a different time cannot be guaranteed.
This provision applies only to permanent scheduling changes and does not permit individual lessons to be rescheduled. Individual missed lessons are governed by the Missed Lessons Policy.
Missed Lessons
Lessons are reserved weekly and are not rescheduled, credited, or refunded when missed or canceled by the student. This policy applies regardless of the reason for the absence, including illness, emergencies, scheduling conflicts, vacations, appointments, activities, or personal circumstances.
When appropriate, students may use one of the options described in the Alternatives to Missed Lessons section. If none of these alternatives is used, the lesson will be considered missed and forfeited.
Alternatives to Missed Lessons
Attend the lesson via Zoom.
Submit a video in advance for feedback during the scheduled lesson time.
Receive a recorded video response with guidance and next steps.
If none of these options are used, the lesson will be considered missed and follow the Missed Lessons Policy.
This policy allows Morel Music to maintain consistent scheduling and reserve each student’s regular lesson time exclusively for them.
Instructor Cancellations
Any lesson canceled by the instructor will result in either:
A make-up lesson scheduled at a mutually agreed time, or
A credit applied to the student’s account
Withdrawal and Refunds
To withdraw from lessons, families must provide at least 30 days’ written notice by email. The withdrawal becomes effective 30 calendar days after Morel Music receives the notice.
The student’s regular lesson time will remain reserved during the 30-day notice period, and the family remains responsible for tuition covering all lessons scheduled during that period. Missed lessons during the notice period will not be rescheduled, credited, or refunded.
The three-payment option is an installment arrangement for the semester package and does not assign each payment to a particular month. When a family withdraws, the account will be recalculated so that the family is charged only for lessons scheduled through the effective withdrawal date.
Any unpaid amount covering lessons through the effective withdrawal date will remain due. Future automatic payments or invoices will be canceled or adjusted so that the family is not charged for lessons scheduled after the effective withdrawal date.
If the family has already paid for lessons scheduled after the effective withdrawal date, that amount will be refunded to the original payment method. Refunds may take two to three weeks to process.
Non-attendance, non-payment, or informing the instructor verbally does not constitute withdrawal. Written notice by email is required. The student’s regular lesson time will be released after the effective withdrawal date.
Pausing Lessons
If you wish to pause your lessons, please notify me as soon as possible.
To retain your current time slot during the pause, payment must continue as scheduled. No refunds will be provided while your time slot is reserved.
Please Note: If you withdraw instead of pausing, your time slot may not be available upon return. Carefully consider whether pausing or withdrawing best meets your needs.
Late Payment
A payment is considered late if it is not received within five calendar days after its scheduled due date. If payment remains outstanding after that period, lessons may be suspended until the account is brought current.
Suspension due to nonpayment does not constitute withdrawal, release the student’s reserved time slot, or eliminate amounts owed under the agreed payment schedule. Lessons missed during a payment suspension will not be rescheduled, credited, or refunded.
Extended nonpayment may result in termination of enrollment. Families experiencing payment difficulties should contact Morel Music before the payment due date.
Liability and Safety
Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether a minor student may attend lessons independently and for arranging the student’s safe and timely arrival and departure.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising minor students before and after their scheduled lesson time. Morel Music is not responsible for students who arrive early, remain after their lesson, or leave the studio premises without appropriate transportation or supervision.
Morel Music is not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal belongings brought onto the studio premises.
In-Person Lesson Parent or Guardian Attendance
A parent or legal guardian must agree to these Studio Policies on behalf of any student under the age of 18.
Minor students may attend their lessons without a parent or guardian present when their parent or legal guardian has given permission for them to do so. Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether their child is sufficiently mature to attend independently.
Parents and guardians are responsible for arranging the student’s safe and timely arrival and departure. Students must leave the studio premises promptly after their lesson unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other approved adult.
Additional family members may attend a lesson provided they do not cause a distraction.
Morel Music provides piano instruction and does not provide childcare services. All in-person students must be registered for a specific lesson day and time. In-person lessons are offered only at the studio location.
Photo / Video Policy
Professional photography or videography may occur during lessons for promotional purposes.
Families will be notified in advance and may opt out of participation.
Student Code of Conduct
Students and accompanying family members are expected to behave respectfully and refrain from disruptive behavior during lessons.
Use of inappropriate language, threatening or disrespectful behavior, disruptive conduct, or failure to follow the Studio Policies may result in immediate termination of lessons. Any refund of unused prepaid tuition will be handled according to the Termination of Lessons by Instructorpolicy.
Technology Policy
Students are responsible for ensuring their device, internet connection, and equipment are functioning properly before the start of a remote lesson.
Lessons missed due to technical difficulties on the student’s end will not be rescheduled or refunded.
If technical issues arise on the instructor’s end, the missed time will be made up or credited at no cost to the student.
Termination of Lessons by Instructor
Morel Music reserves the right to suspend or terminate a student’s enrollment for reasons including, but not limited to:
Inappropriate, threatening, disrespectful, or disruptive behavior by the student or accompanying family members.
Repeated failure to comply with studio policies.
Nonpayment or repeated late payment.
Conduct that creates an unsafe, hostile, or unproductive lesson environment.
Termination may be effective immediately when Morel Music determines that immediate termination is reasonably necessary.
The family remains responsible for tuition and any other outstanding amounts covering lessons provided or scheduled through the effective termination date. Lessons missed before the effective termination date are not eligible for refunds or credits.
Any prepaid tuition covering lessons scheduled after the effective termination date will be refunded to the original payment method, less any outstanding balance owed to Morel Music. Refunds may take two to three weeks to process.
Additional Legal Protections
Indemnification Clause:
By enrolling in lessons, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Morel Music, its instructors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from participation in lessons or activities, including in-person or remote sessions.
Events Beyond Morel Music’s Control
If circumstances beyond Morel Music’s reasonable control prevent an in-person lesson, the lesson may be provided through Zoom or another reasonable remote alternative.
If Morel Music is unable to provide the scheduled lesson or a reasonable alternative, the lesson will be rescheduled or a credit will be applied to the student’s account.
Morel Music is not responsible for delays or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, public emergencies, government actions, widespread power or internet outages, or temporary loss of access to the studio.
Modification of Policies:
Morel Music may update these Studio Policies by providing written notice to enrolled families. Reasonable changes to studio procedures may take effect during an existing semester when necessary for studio operations, safety, or legal compliance.
Material changes to tuition, payment obligations, withdrawal terms, or refund rights will not apply to a semester already purchased unless required by law or agreed to in writing by Morel Music and the enrolled family. Otherwise, material changes will take effect with the family’s next enrollment.
